Overview

The KB Home Projekt Home of the Future was constructed in the nationally recognized master-planned community of Inspirada in Henderson, Nevada. KB Home combined with the BUILDER Concept Innovation and Learning Program utilized “Where Tomorrow Lives” as its guiding principle to bring a future set of standard features and technologies into the project. Potential home buyers were showcased with the latest in wellness from optimized energy and water use performance, health measuring and monitoring, to efficient factory-based building technology. Improving the emotional well-being of the home also extended into the entire community through intelligent outdoor design and innovated community concepts:

HOME

The homesite features a dynamic landscape design centered around the “Community ConNEXTions” concept with emphasis on fitness enrichment, healthier appetites, reviving social engagement, and nature’s medicine, its ambience. Community ConNEXTions are the innovative environmental offerings that promote taking advantage of the NEXT opportunity to connect by the three pillars of social revival: PLAY. GATHER. DINE.

The PLAY element of the concept home included the infinity spa with an elevated yoga deck that combined therapy and fitness within an intimate space and presented a premiere location to balance nature with the built environment around the home. The GATHER element included grill retreats perfect for bringing the same prime location of fellowship as the kitchen to the outdoors, and fire pit lounges that are a great escape for maximizing mental restoration and social relaxation as an extension of the home’s comfort. The DINE element included a green wall system that provides the home with the clean air, aesthetics, and therapy to improve health while giving occupants more space for other amenities that fits their lifestyle just right. Vegetable gardens were also added to the DINE experience and provides a health benefit that many people do not always have the luxury of taking advantage of (ex. better freshness, no chemicals, no cost at the market, etc.).

COMMUNITY

The “ConneKted Community” concept focused on respecting the value of privacy while enriching the extension of home into an environment that fosters successful community integration. A strategic trails network filled with walking/bike paths connects each neighborhood to semi-private spaces at the front of the home and a series of integrated green spaces known as the “our yard” concept. The “ConneKted Community” offers 4x more open space, 31% more homesites, and 41% less roads/infrastructures. The concept also features the “share hub” experience designed to meet the needs of community interaction like car sharing, and social dining areas with “farm to table” options.
