At ABLA, our people are integral to our success. Each month we’re spotlighting essential members of our team to learn more about what they do, what they love, and what’s the secret to their success.
Name Mark Panza
Position Senior Project Manager – RLA
How long have you been at ABLA?
6 Years
How do you like to start your day?
Coffee and emails!
What does a typical day entail?
A typical day can include anything from meetings with clients, consultants, city staff and our internal design team, to managing workflow, concept development, and implementing design into construction documents. I also help with new hire trainings and employee development, administrative tasks such managing project budgets, and construction services such as on-site field walks, reviewing contractor requests (RFI’s) and providing supplemental materials to aid in construction (ASI’s).
What are your hours in the ABLA office and what do you like most about the ABLA digs?
Our office is in a great location right next to ASU’s campus and the building itself provides a great working atmosphere that receives compliments from vendors, clients and anyone who stops by. Typical office hours are 8-5. Sometimes we have to put in some overtime but the extra hours are well worth it to see a beautiful project come to fruition.
Are you a coffee, tea, or soda drinker?
Coffee…most definitely.
What time of day are you most productive? Are you a night owl or an “early bird gets the worm” kind of person?
Night owl
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The best part of my job is seeing a project that I’ve worked on get built and be enjoyed by the end user.
What inspires you throughout the day?
Nature and the creativity of those working around me provide inspiration throughout the day, and I’m also constantly inspired by past projects that proved successful. We measure success by the benefit to the end user of a site or project, and that is always something that we want to try to replicate.
What is your secret to success?
A strong work ethic.
