Each year the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) elects its National and State Chapter Executive Committee. This year, ABLA is excited to announce our very own Veronica Luna (Landscape Architect III) was nominated and named as the AZASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects – Arizona Chapter) Central Section Co-Chair. Veronica will represent Arizona’s Central Section aiding AZASLA’s managing body with the chapter’s strategic operations throughout the year.
“As a proud member of ASLA, I am honored to serve on the Executive Committee,” Veronica said. “I look forward to contributing to AZASLA’s growth and strategy within the organization, community and environment.”
Veronica, who grew up on the banks of the Rio Grande in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, is passionate about creating environmental design that fosters joy and encourages community and connection. She has been an avid member of ASLA since she was a student at Texas A&M University, where she joined the university’s student chapter. Veronica credits ASLA as playing an important role in her career, whether it’s expanding her industry knowledge or establishing relationships with other landscape architects through networking events, mentorship programs, and other coordinated efforts.
“Being part of ASLA has helped me understand American culture and business ethics,” Veronica said. “But more importantly, ASLA has helped me advance my knowledge and relationships within the industry.”
