Overview

Located near the base of the White Tank Mountains in Maricopa County, this 153-acre community resides within the Zanjero Trails Master Plan.  Acknowledging the mining history of the area, the community’s entry feature establishes the project’s character through the use of dry-stacked stone wall arches which meander around the monolithic board-formed concrete sign wall and boulder outcroppings.  The primary collector winds through the site arriving at Exploration Park, the largest park within the community.  Each park embodies the areas mining history, providing symbolic hints of the past. Within Mineral Park, residents use the rock and boulder excavation zone for climbing, and the hill slide to transition to the lower play activities.  In Prospector park, residents navigate through the activity spaces on the shaded discovery trail and play on a near life-size game of chess while waiting for lunch to be served under the group shade structure.  The community street network, open space, and parks incorporate tree groves providing shade on the interconnected trail corridors from each parcel through paseos to the parks.
